Expert consensus on the treatment of chronic wounds published in the peer reviewed journal Der Hautarzt

As the first of its kind, the developed consensus was published in a high-ranking, German language, peer reviewed journal (‘Wound management with enzyme alginogels’ [German: „Wundbehandlung mit Enzym-Alginogelen“], Der Hautarzt, Volume 01/2017; Springer Medizin Verlag). The article particularly addresses the challenges of phase-specific handling of chronic wounds. During the expert meeting a new product group was defined that operates across several wound phases. In addition, recommendations for the clinical application of this potential new product group were developed and its economic potential in health care was discussed.
